EPHESIANS 5 v 1-7
Be who you are .
It's a big question isn't it , how do we really see ourselves and all that it means - our relationships with others for example . As ever our Christian faith is an enormous support .
Our reading this morning was Ephesians 5 : 1 - 7
Essentially Paul is saying when we know WHOSE we are , we are then in a relationship to help us grow and develop through the Spirit into the individuals God so loves and wants us to be .
It certainly seems a big ask at times .
Ephesians 5 :1-2
'Be imitators of God therefore as dearly loved children and live a life of love just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God' .
Those four letters L O V E come up again and again in the Bible with detailed instructions of exactly what that may mean . Do we always recognise that when we are able to give it especially in difficult times of hurt and distress - it tends to come back !
