Frequently Asked Questions

What time does church start?

Our Sunday gathering is at 10.30am.

Where is the church?

We are located just off Rosemary Street, next to the Mansfield District Council buildings and car park, behind the Quakers Friends Meeting House. Our postcode is NG19 6AB.

What should I wear?

Most people dress casually – but feel free to wear what you like!

Where can I park?

There is free parking at Mansfield Baptist Church, and on other parking nearby.

What should I expect?

When you come in our welcome team will welcome you. There will be some singing, a Bible-based talk and a chance to be prayed with if you would like. You are very welcome to just come in and watch what is going on if you would prefer and engage as much as you like.

Do you have any events for newcomers?

We will try to talk to you after the service, so please do stay around for coffee and refreshments so we can get to know you and you us! We also run new newcomers meal twice a year for those that make Mansfield Baptist Church their home.

What happens during a gathering?

Our gatherings are introduced by one of our church leaders and start with a time of celebration and sung worship. This normally lasts 20-25 minutes. All the words are on the screen so you can sing along if you would like to. There is no pressure to do that and you should feel free to engage at your own pace, even if that means not singing at all. Communion is served monthly, we take a regular offering and hold monthly baptisms.

What about my child/children?

There is an area as you come into the church where families can sit with small children, there are toys and art materials for the children to use. There is also a Childrens short talk early in the service, as we want to ensure children included and made to feel very welcome and part of our church. We have supervised children's groups from birth to school year 6 during our 10.30am gathering as well as Youth for those in school years 7-13. You can register your children before the gathering and our children's teams will be there to answer any questions.

How do I join in?

Maybe you would like to get to know others by joining a team, joining others in a group or activity weekend or simply join us for a coffee on a Sunday after our gatherings. There are so many ways to connect here at Mansfield Baptist Church and we would love for you to feel at home.
