PHILIPPIANS 1 v 6
ENDURE TO THE END
We all have very different experiences in our faith journey in life - such a blessing. I was very lucky , both my parents had strong Christian faith and I don't ever remember a time of not hearing about our special friend Jesus and being part of the Church family . However , there are many milestones along the way for each of us as we hope to grow in our understanding of God.
While nurse training in London , I was often asked to work on a Sunday and being away from home my Church attendance almost stopped . Looking back I see that the Lord did not leave me, his child , after my confirmation of faith aged 16. Indeed I believe the Lord gave me the fixed , exclusive vocation to nursing , even with a knowledge of what exactly that meant after all my experience of hospitals / surgery from pre-school years. Later in life at the most difficult , lowest and terrifying times ( major surgery in the USA ) , I have known the very real physical , peace and love of the living Lord prompting my thoughts , letting me cry out to Him , and actually enabling me to go through all that was necessary.
I wonder what it has been like for you ? He completely loves you , a precious son or daughter with forgiveness by Grace and finished in the crucifixion of Jesus.
Philippians 1 : 6 gives us this promise ' He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus'.
Prayer
I pray Father , help me and all to trust in that promise even in the difficult times we face today .
Amen
