For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile.
I do hope you’ll join us this morning at 11am (arrive from 10.30am) for our first ”Deck Chair Church” on Titchfield Park followed by a picnic.
Last Sunday morning we started our summer series of teachings on the “Story of Jonah”. God called Jonah out of his comfort zone to go to a very uncomfortable place, Nineveh to proclaim God’s message to the people there. So that is why are we going to the park this morning, we probably won’t be arrested, or beaten or worse like Jonah would of faced, but we may be mocked or laughed at, but God will be there with us as He promises.
One of the most important values we want to embrace as a church is to be courageous in mission. So today is about getting outside of our church walls, being visible to the community, sharing the message of God’s amazing love and getting over our fear of sharing our faith with others outside our church as let’s be honest, there are very few of us that finds this easy or comfortable myself included.
God is calling, and has always called his church to be bold and courageous in mission and as a leader, I feel that call strongly. So today, lets gather together, be bold, unashamed, filled with Love for God and our town and lets have a lot of fun together while we do that.
